~Tide Runner Surf Casting Co.~

Tide Runner SlapTail
The Tide Runner Surf Casting Co. Bronx, New York was founded by
Roy Whitehead.
Roy was a very well known striped bass fisherman in the
New York / New Jersey area. He did a lot of testing and experimentation with lures over the years, especially flap-tails.
From what I gather so far he sold lures under his name before forming the
Tide Runner Surf Casting Co. in the 1940's.
Early Whitehead lures used screw eyes for hook hangers; on his later lures he used homemade wire hook hangers.
